Sizing Chart Gloves Men

The adage “fits like a second skin” definitely applies to the purchase of a glove. If you should be unsure about your right glove size, measure your bigger hand, usually your writing hand, at its widest point excluding the thumb.

Measure your glove size

All the other measurements of your hand will fall in proportion. Our sizing chart will then indicate your perfect size. In case your measurement should fall between two sizes, we recommend rounding off to the nearest half or full size. Gloves should fit tightly in the beginning, as they stretch out and adjust to your hand size over time.

When you put on your gloves for the first time, slightly bend your fingers backwards. If a slight crease occurs by your knuckles, you’ll know that you have the right glove size.

Alongside the ever-increasing mechanization, the challenging job of a professional glove-maker has become increasingly rare. Yet, the quality and wearing comfort associated with a pair of handmade gloves remains inimitable. That is why each one of our gloves is crafted by master glove makers in Naples, Italy. Stitch by stich, the gloves turn into a true gem of Italian handicraft. Genuine Peccary leather is the most luxurious, expensive, and rarest gloving leather in the world. The lining is made of incredibly fine Mongolian cashmere which will keep your hands warm even during the coldest winter days.

The materials which are used to craft our gloves are some of the finest in the world. These natural materials need to be cared for in the proper way to enjoy them for as long as possible. You’ll find our complete care instructions here.

Use and Storage
Gently pull your leather gloves over your hand by switching between pulling the back and the palm of the glove down towards your wrist. Don’t push down between the fingers. When you want to take off your gloves, first pull each finger individually and then all fingers at once. We recommend not wearing your gloves on consecutive days, so they can dry completely. Especially cashmere lining can wear off quickly if it does not dry completely between wearings. Make sure to store your gloves on a flat surface, ideally keeping light and dark colours separated, and away from any heat source, such as the sun or a heater.

KNOW WHAT YOU BUY

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

OUR GLOVE MANUFACTORY
Naples, Italy

"Made in" labels are unfortunately a highly simplified truth. For a product to be legally labeled as "Made in Italy", for example, it is sufficient that the last essential production step took place in Italy. The term "essential" is often stretched to the limit. Many brands, including many luxury brands, use this loophole and have their products manufactured in low-wage countries in Eastern Europe and the Far East before they are "luxurified" in Italy. Unfortunately, as a consumer, you hardly ever know about this. To us, that is totally wrong and inexcusable. That is why all of our products are proudly crafted in family-owned workshops in Italy, Germany and Portugal where all artisans are treated with the respect they deserve.

The traditional handicraft of glove-making is a nearly lost art and there are only very few master glove makers left in the world. We are very honored to be working with one of the most revered glove master families in the world. They have been crafting beautiful gloves for many luxury brands since the middle of the 19th century and their quality is absolutely superb.

Luxurious Peccary Leather
  • Material: Genuine Peccary Leather
  • Origin of material: Side product of subsistence hunting in Peru
  • Tanning method: Mineral
  • Tannery: Undisclosed
  • Location: Italy
  • Certificates: CITES, REACH

Our Carpincho hides come from Argentina and are tanned in Italy in compliance with the strict REACH Regulations. The eventual irregularities of the grain pattern give evidence to the authenticity of the leather. We know the name of the Italian Tannery but our Glove Manufactory asked us to keep the information a secret which is why we are not disclosing it at this point.

Soft Mongolian Cashmere Lining
  • Material: 100% pure cashmere
  • Origin of material: Mongolia
  • Factory: Undisclosed
  • Location: Italy

Our Peccary leather is the side product of subsistence hunting by indigenous hunters located in Peru which is the only country in the world legally permitted to export Peccary hides. The rigid CITES Regulation limits the annual number of Peccaries which are allowed to be hunted to maintain the natural balance of the ecosystem. CITES also strictly prohibits the hunt of Peccaries for their skin. Subsistence hunters are only permitted to hunt to provide food for themselves and their families. The raw hides are individually collected by the hunters and conserved in Peru as mandated by the Peruvian government. The hides are then brought to Italy where they are tanned in compliance with the strict REACH Regulations. The eventual irregularities of the grain pattern give evidence to the authenticity of the leather. We know the name of the Italian Tannery but our Glove Manufactory asked us to keep the information a secret which is why we are not disclosing it at this point.

Strong Cotton Stitching Thread

Price Breakdown

We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. But do we really know by how much? We certainly didn't and what we found out shocked us. Traditional retail brands mark-up their prices by 5-6 times. Luxury brands mark-up their prices by staggering 10-15 times. To us, that is unjustifiable. We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times and we reveal our exact production costs. You deserve to know.

GENERAL FAQ

Why are you displaying your production costs?
We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. The traditional mark-up is 5-6 times. The mark-up for luxury brands can even be 10-15 times. They can do so, because we as consumers don't know the actual production price. We firmly believe that you have a right to know. That is the only way to empower you to make more informed and better purchasing positions. You can find the exact price-breakdown for each product in the “What it costs” section.

How do you calculate the traditional retail price?
This is how the fashion industry works traditionally:
Production Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Wholesale Price
Wholesale Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Traditional Retail Price

Take one of our Peccary Gloves for example. The Production Price is 78,95€.
Wholesale Price: 78,95€ x 2 = 157,90€
Traditional Retail Price: 157,90€ x 2,2 = 345,00€
Dalgado Price: 78,05 x 2,97 = 235,00€

We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times.

Why is transparency so important to you?
The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. We firmly believe the industry is fundamentally flawed. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is why we reveal exactly where our products are made, what they are made of, and what they cost.

What does climate positive & plastic positive mean?
There is only one Earth and it is our responsibility to take care of it. Yet, regardless of how environmentally-friendly our materials and production processes are, every product has an ecological footprint. We do everything in our power to make sure it’s a positive one. For every single order, we plant one tree with our partner On A Mission and remove 1kg of plastic from our beloved Oceans with our partner Empower.

Being climate positive means that we as a Company go beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions and actually create an environmental benefit by removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Being plastic positive means that we as a Company remove more plastic from the oceans than is created during our entire production.
