Care Instructions
Cashmere is a delicate material that needs to be cared for properly. We generally recommend washing your cashmere product by hand. For hand-washing, use cool water and a delicate or specialist washing detergent Ph 8+. You can also use baby shampoo to maintain an ultra-soft texture.

If your cashmere is stained, we recommend bringing it to a professional dry cleaner. You can also try to machine wash it on a delicate cycle at a cool temperature of 30°C using a short cycle on a low spin (no more than 30 minutes). Make sure to take your cashmere product out of the machine right after washing.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND MATERIALS THAT MAKE OUR SCARVES STAND OUT

Guaranteed luxury quality at honest prices The crafting of high-quality cashmere accessories has been a family passion for our Scarf & Beanie Manufactory since 1922. The rare combination of skilled artisans, premium materials, and modern technology results in fairly-priced luxury scarves which are designed to last a lifetime.

KNOW WHAT YOU BUY

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

OUR SCARF & BEANIE MANUFACTORY
Genoa, Italy

"Made in" labels are unfortunately a highly simplified truth. For a product to be legally labeled as "Made in Italy", for example, it is sufficient that the last essential production step took place in Italy. The term "essential" is often stretched to the limit. Many brands, including many luxury brands, use this loophole and have their products manufactured in low-wage countries in Eastern Europe and the Far East before they are "luxurified" in Italy. Unfortunately, as a consumer, you hardly ever know about this. To us, that is totally wrong and inexcusable. That is why all of our products are proudly crafted in family-owned workshops in Italy, Germany and Portugal where all artisans are treated with the respect they deserve.

Crafting premium beanies has been a family passion for our Scarf & Beanie Manufactory for decades. Located in Genoa, the Manufactory has been crafting luxurious cashmere accessories for many of the top luxury brands since 1922. The incredibly beautiful cashmere paired with the Know-How of our artisans makes for cashmere beanies destined to last a lifetime.

The yarn, it’s dying, and the production are all done in Italy to ensure the highest quality standards and an environmentally-friendly production.

Price Breakdown

We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. But do we really know by how much? We certainly didn't and what we found out shocked us. Traditional retail brands mark-up their prices by 5-6 times. Luxury brands mark-up their prices by staggering 10-15 times. To us, that is unjustifiable. We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times and we reveal our exact production costs. You deserve to know.

Pure Cashmere

Our scarves are crafted of 100% pure Mongolian Cashmere from the Capri Hircus Laniger native to the Gobi desert. This particular kind of cashmere is considered to be the finest cashmere in the world due to local thermic conditions.

Timeless Elegance

All of our scarves are designed to be entirely timeless. Kept in a simple design with unicolors, the beanies can be easily paired with any outfit. To perfect the look, pair them with our matching beanies.

80 Years Experience

Which materials are your scarves and beanies made of?
The raw cashmere comes from Inner and Outer Mongolia from the Capra Hircus Laniger. This particular kind of cashmere is considered to be the finest in the world due to the local climate. It is far superior to other cashmere in terms of softness, warmth, longevity, and pilling. The yarn, it’s dying, and the production are all done in Italy to ensure the highest quality standards and an environmentally-friendly production.

Which sizes are your scarves?
Our small scarves have a length of 170cm and 25cm width and our large scarves have a length of 195cm (8cm long Cashmere tassels) and 35cm width.

Which sizes are your beanies?
The beanies are unisize. Due to their construction and the natural properties of cashmere, they are very stretchy fit smoothly to any kind of head shape.

How do I take of my scarves and beanies?
We recommend washing your cashmere product by hand. For hand-washing, use cool water and a delicate or specialist washing detergent Ph 8+. You can also use baby shampoo to maintain an ultra-soft texture.

GENERAL FAQ

Why are you displaying your production costs?
We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. The traditional mark-up is 5-6 times. The mark-up for luxury brands can even be 10-15 times. They can do so, because we as consumers don't know the actual production price. We firmly believe that you have a right to know. That is the only way to empower you to make more informed and better purchasing positions. You can find the exact price-breakdown for each product in the “What it costs” section.

How do you calculate the traditional retail price?
This is how the fashion industry works traditionally:
Production Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Wholesale Price
Wholesale Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Traditional Retail Price

Take one of our braided belts for example. The Production Price is 31,27€.
Wholesale Price: 31,27€ x 2 = 62,54€
Traditional Retail Price: 62,54€ x 2,4 = 150,00€
Dalgado Price: 31,27 x 2,96 = 95,00€

We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times.

Why is transparency so important to you?
The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. We firmly believe the industry is fundamentally flawed. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is why we reveal exactly where our products are made, what they are made of, and what they cost.

What does climate positive & plastic positive mean?
There is only one Earth and it is our responsibility to take care of it. Yet, regardless of how environmentally-friendly our materials and production processes are, every product has an ecological footprint. We do everything in our power to make sure it’s a positive one. For every single order, we plant one tree with our partner On A Mission and remove 1kg of plastic from our beloved Oceans with our partner Empower.

Being climate positive means that we as a Company go beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions and actually create an environmental benefit by removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Being plastic positive means that we as a Company remove more plastic from the oceans than is created during our entire production.
