Additional notes:
– Wear the type of trousers you intend to wear with the belt, as the thickness of the trouser material can affect your hip size.
– If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape at hand, thread a cord, cable or ribbon through the belt loops, mark the point where it goes exactly once around your hips, and measure the distance with a regular tape measure.
– The pin should ideally fit through the middle hole, so that there is neither too much nor too little belt. The length from the middle hole to the tip of the belt is 15 cm (total belt length = belt size + 15 cm; example: belt size 95 = total belt length 110).

How to find the right size

  • Step 1.Thread a flexible measuring tape through the belt loops of a well-fitting pair of trousers (just like a belt).
  • Step 2.Mark the point where the tape goes exactly once around your hips. That is your hip size.
  • Step 3.Check which hip-size interval your measured hip size fits into best and choose the corresponding belt size.

Example: Measured hip size = 93 cm / 37 in → Belt size = 95/38

Measuring your hip circumference

Alternative measuring methods

Use your current belt
1) Take one of your current belts (even if it does not fit perfectly).
2) Measure the distance from the inner end of the buckle to the hole or the point (braided belts have no holes) that fits you most comfortably. This is usually the point that shows the most signs of wear. This is your hip size.
3) Check which hip-size interval your hip size fits into best and choose the corresponding belt size.

Use your jeans size
1) Add 3 inches to your current jeans size to determine your belt size.
2) Check our size table to see which size fits you best.
Example: 32 in jeans size + 3 in = 35 in hip circumference → 90/36 belt size

Additional notes:
– This is the fastest and most convenient, but also the least accurate method.
– This method works best in inches and only for men.

Why are there 5 belt holes?
The number of holes (usually 5 holes spaced 2.5 cm apart) gives your body room for small changes and makes it possible to wear the belt at different waist or hip heights (jeans are usually worn lower than suit trousers). In addition, your hip size can vary depending on the material thickness of your trousers and on whether or not you tuck in your shirt.

Know what you are buying

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

OUR MANUFACTORY FOR BRAIDED BELTS
Milan, Italy

"Made in" labels are unfortunately a gross oversimplification. For a product to be legally labeled, for example, "Made in Italy," it is sufficient if the final essential production step takes place in Italy. The term "essential" is often stretched to the limit. Many brands, including many luxury brands, exploit this loophole and have their products manufactured in low-wage countries in Eastern Europe and the Far East before they are "finished" in Italy. Unfortunately, as a customer, you are usually unaware of this. To us, that is not only completely wrong, but also unacceptable. That is why all of our products are proudly crafted in family-owned workshops in Italy, Germany and Portugal where all artisans are treated with the respect they deserve.

In 2017, we set out on the bold quest to find the very best braided belt maker. After many months, we finally found what we were looking for. The fourth generation family business has been honing their skills since 1913 and is known around the world for their exceptional high-quality braided belts. The Manufactory has already worked with many of the most esteemed luxury brands.

TRACEABILITY

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

The astonishingly durable viscose used for the lining of the belt is an ecological yarn made of cotton linter, the waste of cotton plants after they were harvested. The yarn is essentially made of agricultural waste and is RCS and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and REACH compliant. Unfortunately, our Braided Belt Manufactory is currently keeping the Factory name a secret. As soon as we know it, we will update our traceability information.

PREISMATRIX

We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. But do we really know by how much? We certainly didn't and what we found out shocked us. Traditional retail brands mark-up their prices by 5-6 times. Luxury brands mark-up their prices by staggering 10-15 times. To us, that is unjustifiable. We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times and we reveal our exact production costs. You deserve to know.

Innovative Viscose-Wool Blend

The belt is made of an innovative intersecting viscose-wool blend which is exceptionally durable guaranteeing many years of wearing joy. The ecological viscose lining yarn is made of cotton linter, the waste of cotton plants after they were harvested.

Designed for Every Occasion

The belt was designed to bridge the gap between more formal classic belts and casual textile belts. The combination of braided viscose and wool, hand-painted leather tips, and a simple brass buckle makes it a versatile tool in every man’s arsenal.

100 Years Experience

It takes the collaboration of 9 Italian artisans and 12 steps to craft one single Braided Wool Belt. The combination of more than 100 years of experience and excellent materials ensures the exceptional longevity and refined appearance of our belts.

Climate and plastic positive

For every single order, we plant a tree with our partner On A Mission and remove 80 plastic bottles from our beloved oceans with our partner Empower.
