Additional notes:
– Wear the type of trousers you intend to wear with the belt, as the thickness of the trouser material can affect your hip size.
– If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape at hand, thread a cord, cable or ribbon through the belt loops, mark the point where it goes exactly once around your hips, and measure the distance with a regular tape measure.
– The pin should ideally fit through the middle hole, so that there is neither too much nor too little belt. The length from the middle hole to the tip of the belt is 15 cm (total belt length = belt size + 15 cm; example: belt size 95 = total belt length 110).

How to find the right size

  • Step 1.Thread a flexible measuring tape through the belt loops of a well-fitting pair of trousers (just like a belt).
  • Step 2.Mark the point where the tape goes exactly once around your hips. That is your hip size.
  • Step 3.Check which hip-size interval your measured hip size fits into best and choose the corresponding belt size.

Example: Measured hip size = 93 cm / 37 in → Belt size = 95/38

Measuring your hip circumference

Alternative measuring methods

Use your current belt
1) Take one of your current belts (even if it does not fit perfectly).
2) Measure the distance from the inner end of the buckle to the hole or the point (braided belts have no holes) that fits you most comfortably. This is usually the point that shows the most signs of wear. This is your hip size.
3) Check which hip-size interval your hip size fits into best and choose the corresponding belt size.

Use your jeans size
1) Add 3 inches to your current jeans size to determine your belt size.
2) Check our size table to see which size fits you best.
Example: 32 in jeans size + 3 in = 35 in hip circumference → 90/36 belt size

Additional notes:
– This is the fastest and most convenient, but also the least accurate method.
– This method works best in inches and only for men.

Why are there 5 belt holes?
The number of holes (usually 5 holes spaced 2.5 cm apart) gives your body room for small changes and makes it possible to wear the belt at different waist or hip heights (jeans are usually worn lower than suit trousers). In addition, your hip size can vary depending on the material thickness of your trousers and on whether or not you tuck in your shirt.

Know what you are buying

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

OUR MANUFACTORY FOR CLASSIC BELTS
Hamburg, Germany

"Made in" labels are unfortunately a gross oversimplification. For a product to be legally labeled, for example, "Made in Italy," it is sufficient if the final essential production step takes place in Italy. The term "essential" is often stretched to the limit. Many brands, including many luxury brands, exploit this loophole and have their products manufactured in low-wage countries in Eastern Europe and the Far East before they are "finished" in Italy. Unfortunately, as a customer, you are usually unaware of this. To us, that is not only completely wrong, but also unacceptable. That is why all of our products are proudly crafted in family-owned workshops in Italy, Germany and Portugal where all artisans are treated with the respect they deserve.

Our Classic Belt Manufactory is the first Manufactory we ever worked with and will always have a special place in our hearts. Dating all the way back to 1825, it is not just the oldest belt Manufactory in Germany but also one of the very best. Every single belt is handcrafted of the finest materials by experienced artisans with the high aspiration to last a lifetime.

PREISMATRIX

We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. But do we really know by how much? We certainly didn't and what we found out shocked us. Traditional retail brands mark-up their prices by 5-6 times. Luxury brands mark-up their prices by staggering 10-15 times. To us, that is unjustifiable. We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times and we reveal our exact production costs. You deserve to know.

Sustainable Italian Suede Leather

Leather is the main component of our classic suede belts which is why we make no compromises when it comes to it. The leather is LWG Gold-rated Italian suede leather which is also the world’s first USDA certified biobased leather. The raw hides are side-products of the meat industry and are tanned in compliance with the strict REACH Regulations.
