About the manufactory
The history of our scarf & beanie manufactory goes all the way back to 1922 when a Genoese family started knitting high-quality yarns. Over time, demand for their exceptional yarns grew and the family business expanded. Several years later, the family decided to use their know-how of yarn knitting and apply it to the creation of premium cashmere scarves and beanies. Operating in its third generation today, the Manufactory has built an exceptional reputation as one of the world’s leaders in the creation of cashmere accessories.
Wie wir die Manufaktur gefunden haben
Als wir auf die Idee kamen, Schals und Mützen in unsere Kollektion aufzunehmen, wussten wir sofort, dass wir uns nur mit der allerbesten Qualität zufriedengeben würden. Deshalb wollten wir feinstes mongolisches Kaschmir mit italienischer Handwerkskunst verbinden. Es hat lange gedauert, bis wir eine italienische Manufaktur fanden, die in der Lage ist, das rohe Kaschmir perfekt zu veredeln und zu wunderschönen Schals und Mützen zu verarbeiten. In einer kleinen Werkstatt in Genua wurden wir schließlich fündig.
Nachhaltigkeit
Kaschmir ist ein unglaubliches Material, das nur minimal bearbeitet wird, damit es seine natürlichen Eigenschaften beibehält. Die Nachfrage nach billigem Kaschmir hat jedoch dazu geführt, dass das Grasland in vielen Teilen der Mongolei durch Überweidung degradiert wurde. Deshalb war uns wichtig, dass das Rohmaterial für die Herstellung unserer Strickwaren von kleinen mongolischen Farmen stammt, auf denen die Capra Hircus Laniger nicht nur artgerecht geschoren werden, sondern wo die Farmen auch im Einklang mit der Natur arbeiten. Sobald das Kaschmir in Italien ankommt, wird alles vor Ort fertigstellt, um die Transportwege zu minimieren. Der größte nachhaltige Aspekt der Schals und Mützen ist jedoch ihre Langlebigkeit. Mit der richtigen Pflege halten sie ein Leben lang.
Materials Used for Our Scarves & Beanies
The raw cashmere comes from Inner and Outer Mongolia from the Capra Hircus Laniger. This particular kind of cashmere is considered to be the finest in the world due to the local climate. It is far superior to other cashmere in terms of softness, warmth, longevity, and pilling. The raw cashmere is washed and refined in Italy.
