THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND MATERIALS THAT MAKE OUR BRAIDED BELTS STAND OUT

Guaranteed luxury quality at honest prices The traditional art of belt-making has been a family passion for our Braided Belt Manufactory since 1913. The rare combination of highly-skilled artisans, modern technology, and first-grade materials results in fairly-priced luxury braided belts which will withstand the test of time. We guarantee it.

KNOW WHAT YOU BUY

The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. To us, that is fundamentally wrong. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is the only way to make better purchasing decisions.

OUR BRAIDED BELT MANUFACTORY
Milano, Italy

"Made in" labels are unfortunately a highly simplified truth. For a product to be legally labeled as "Made in Italy", for example, it is sufficient that the last essential production step took place in Italy. The term "essential" is often stretched to the limit. Many brands, including many luxury brands, use this loophole and have their products manufactured in low-wage countries in Eastern Europe and the Far East before they are "luxurified" in Italy. Unfortunately, as a consumer, you hardly ever know about this. To us, that is totally wrong and inexcusable. That is why all of our products are proudly crafted in family-owned workshops in Italy, Germany and Portugal where all artisans are treated with the respect they deserve.

In 2017, we set out on the bold quest to find the very best braided belt maker. After many months, we finally found what we were looking for. The fourth generation family business has been honing their skills since 1913 and is known around the world for their exceptional high-quality braided belts. The Manufactory has already worked with many of the most esteemed luxury brands.

Price Breakdown

We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. But do we really know by how much? We certainly didn't and what we found out shocked us. Traditional retail brands mark-up their prices by 5-6 times. Luxury brands mark-up their prices by staggering 10-15 times. To us, that is unjustifiable. We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times and we reveal our exact production costs. You deserve to know.

Gold-rated Italian Suede Leather

Leather is the main component of our braided suede belts and we make no compromises when it comes to it. The leather is LWG Gold-rated Italian suede leather which is also the world’s first USDA certified biobased leather. The raw hides are side-products of the meat industry and are tanned in compliance with the strict REACH Regulations.

Timeless Elegance

Braided suede belts have enjoyed great popularity due to their timeless elegance for many decades. Paired with a simple yet elegant solid brass buckle, the belt turns into a versatile accessory which can be effortlessly worn with more formal or casual attire and will always look the part.

100 Years Experience

It takes the collaboration of 9 Italian artisans and 12 steps to craft one single braided suede belt. The combination of more than 100 years of experience and excellent materials ensures the exceptional longevity and refined appearance of our belts.

Climate & Plastic Positive

For every single order, we plant one tree with our partner On A Mission and remove 80 plastic bottles from our beloved Oceans with our partner Empower. We are very proud to be a climate-positive and plastic-positive Company. All of our belts are packaged completely plastic-free in a beautiful black belt box made of FSC certified paper and come with a cotton dust bag from Italy. Every product has a footprint. We do everything in our power to make sure it’s a positive one.

GENERAL FAQ

Why are you displaying your production costs?
We all know that fashion brands heavily mark-up their prices. The traditional mark-up is 5-6 times. The mark-up for luxury brands can even be 10-15 times. They can do so, because we as consumers don't know the actual production price. We firmly believe that you have a right to know. That is the only way to empower you to make more informed and better purchasing positions. You can find the exact price-breakdown for each product in the “What it costs” section.

How do you calculate the traditional retail price?
This is how the fashion industry works traditionally:
Production Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Wholesale Price
Wholesale Price x 2 - 2,5 (on average) = Traditional Retail Price

Take one of our braided belts for example. The Production Price is 31,27€.
Wholesale Price: 31,27€ x 2 = 62,54€
Traditional Retail Price: 62,54€ x 2,4 = 150,00€
Dalgado Price: 31,27 x 2,96 = 95,00€

We cut out the middle man, sell directly to you and pass the savings on to you. Our average mark-up is 3 times.

Why is transparency so important to you?
The fashion industry is notoriously opaque and deceiving. As a consumer you get hardly any reliable information on the actual origin of the materials and manufacturing conditions. We firmly believe the industry is fundamentally flawed. You have every right to know exactly what you are buying. That is why we reveal exactly where our products are made, what they are made of, and what they cost.

What does climate positive & plastic positive mean?
There is only one Earth and it is our responsibility to take care of it. Yet, regardless of how environmentally-friendly our materials and production processes are, every product has an ecological footprint. We do everything in our power to make sure it’s a positive one. For every single order, we plant one tree with our partner On A Mission and remove 1kg of plastic from our beloved Oceans with our partner Empower.

Being climate positive means that we as a Company go beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions and actually create an environmental benefit by removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Being plastic positive means that we as a Company remove more plastic from the oceans than is created during our entire production.
